Travelers to Washington D.C. and the museums on The Mall should not miss The National Museum of African Art. It's an often over-looked jewel with a phenomenal collection. But if you are so motivated to bring home a piece of African art, jewelry or clothing, head several blocks off the Mall, to 7th St and Indiana Av NW, and Artifactory.

Artifactory has been selling African and Asian home furnishings and accessories for over 30 years. For many years, Artifactory was the only DC store offering such goods. Prices widely range from very inexpensive beads to rare antiques, like a Camaroon throne chair ($6,000) to Indian wood spice cabinets, antique lanterns, African masks and wooden benches.

Artifactory, 641 Indiana Ave NW
Washington, DC 20004-2906
