I rate Michael’s Classic American Kobe Burger

As we walked into the Bourbon Steak restaurant, my 1st impression was dramatic and gorgeous. Melissa was a delight to meet at the extremely elegant entrance. The bar is the 1st area you notice. Then you walk into a huge soaring dining room. There are 2 large floral pieces and many muted tables and chairs. I loved the leather sofa seating surrounding the edges of the restaurant. A private dining room surrounds huge windows on one side of the restaurant. Michael’s menu is impressive. It gives you a varied group of choices for any palate.
John Riccardo watches over everything and is very gracious.
Matthew Turner is the sommelier. He is the man in the suit with me. Fernan was our waiter and was extremely attentive.
Our Kobe Burger tasted like the finest steak. The duck fat fries, fennel slaw and watercress were the perfect sides.
Even my ice tea was extra special.
Dessert: Chocolate Molten Cake with malted milk ice cream was unbelievable! The special surprise on the side tasted like a special crunchy chocolate cookie crunched up & added to the sauce, cake & ice cream. I look forward to staying overnight at The Fairmont Turnberry and enjoying another fine dining experience at Bourbon Steak. I grew up in Northern California. That is why The Fairmont is very close to my heart and I know when I visit Michael Mina’s 1st restaurant in San Francisco it will become close to my heart too. Bourbon Steak was a great beginning……kisses to everyone who helped us have a perfect hamburger.
