Spain. Probably my favourite country. Second only to Portugal and obviously my home, England. Often when I sit at home my mind wanders back to all of the wonderful places I've been in my life.
But clear as day, unfaded and fresh, are the memories from the past two years. Memories I have cherished since the moment they were concieved! Now, I really don't mean to bore you but all of this is necessary to get the message through to you how fun these holidays are! I discovered an English business called
Equestrian Escapes and have allready been on more than ten holidays with them.
I want to tell you about the wonderful time I had in Jerez de la Frontera. This city in Spain, has been internationally recognized due to it's wine and sherry production. Jerez is the equestrian capital of Andalucia, a large region in Spain, and so is naturally soaked in horsey culture and home to the Royal Riding School. On the first day I had a riding lesson and then went for a walk and a trot through the vinyards. It's an absolutely breath-taking place. I felt a sense of nostalgia, like I'd been there before, almost like it smelt of home. A vauge memory in the warm air. That night I got a great nights sleep in my hotel and prepared for the following days. Unable to hide my excitement!
Over the following days I experienced true Spanish beach riding. The beauty never ceased to amaze me and my love affair with the Spanish coastline thickened. I paid a visit to the national park and had a good few more lessons. But before I could ask "What happened?" the holiday was over, my bags packed and I myself waiting outside for the minivan transfer to the Airport. The journey home was a slightly solemn one. However there was a ray of hope... That I may return.
I wish everyone who reads this the happiest of holidays! And I wouldn't feel right without urging you... These are the people for your Horse Holiday in Europe!
